2024 Lexington Art Show
The 2024 Lexington Art Show was held on Oct. 3-5. The show had over 130 pieces of art displayed, including youth art.
Thank you to the Lexington Arts Council Patrons who made the show possible and thank you to all of the artists who displayed their artwork at the show!

MUSIC & ART EVENT
On June 9, 2024 the Arts Council held the Music and Art Event in downtown Lexington with the Top Shelf jazz trio playing on the courthouse porch. There were also crafts and prizes for the kids, and an art walk in the store windows along Main Street. The event was held in conjunction with the Second Sunday activities. Everyone had a great time!
The event was supported in part by a Ghost Light Program award from the Missouri Arts Council, in partnership with the Missouri Association of Community Arts Agencies. The music was also sponsored in part by The Lexington Chamber of Commerce.
The 2023 Lexington Art Show was held on Oct. 5-7. A record number of entries were displayed at this year’s show.

The Lexington Arts Council hosted the Missouri Association of Community Arts Agencies at its “MACAA on the Spot” on May 5, 2023. Participants from across the state visited Lexington and took part in a round table discussion, art exhibit, piano music and a trolley tour around town.

The Lexington Bicentennial Art Show was held on Sep. 29-Oct. 1, 2022. A record number 125 entries were displayed at this year’s show.

Thanks to all of the artists who participated in the 2021 Art Show. The show featured over 90 pieces of art.
The August, 2021 Decorated Top Hats contest with 55 hats displayed on downtown light poles. Sponsored by the Arts Council and Community Fair Board. Winners are shown below.

On August 29, 2021 co-sponsored with Missouri Humanities Council a Missouri Bicentennial speaker program by Bryan Jack titled “The Gateway to the South: Understanding Missouri as a Southern State”.

“Struggle for Statehood” - Missouri bicentennial exhibit.










Hosted the Missouri Bicentennial “Struggle for Statehood” exhibit provided by the Missouri Humanities Council.
Displayed at the Wentworth Museum downtown Lexington, MO during November through first week of December 2020. Poster displays of the panels were put on the windows for viewing from the sidewalk also.
Thanks to the Missouri Humanities Council, the Wentworth Museum, and the Lexington Historical Association.

ART WALK DOWNTOWN




Since the indoor art show wasn’t possible this year, an outdoor art walk was done with artists paintings and photographs displayed in downtown building windowS FOR 2 WEEKS IN OCTOBER for people to view outdoors socially distanced.
Handing out take-home pumpkins & decorating kits to children in early October.

Decorated Stars contest in August.
People of all ages decorated stars for display on downtown light poles.
Had a summertime scavenger hunt for people to find local landmarks & architecture.
Was an outdoor activity that people could do to get out of the house but stay socially distanced. Had a drawing for prizes from those that found all items.

BAM (Bike Across Missouri) 2017. We held a bike decorating contest, showcasing them on Main Street. Winners of the decorating contest received a prize bike.

Annual Art Show, 2017. With over 90 contestants, the beautiful art was on display at The Lex Auditorium. We also included a youth art show. Hosted by the arts council, we brought in a judge and awarded first through third place prizes.
